ACCOUNTING MANAGER
OVERALL PURPOSE:
Prepare timely and accurate transactions in financial statement
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Perform and Complete the 5 Days Close Activities:
- Prepare some reports according to SLF Asia time table (5 days close)
- Ensure that all the deliverables meet the deadline
- Ensure that issues are identified and resolved (prior to 5 days close) to avoid problem in meeting the 5 days close timetable
2. Maintain the issue log to ensure that issue does not re-occur (preventive action)
- Review and approve the journal entries in the system
- Supervise the staff in performing the daily and monthly activity process
- Check and approve general & Life Accounting transactions in SL and Sunsystem.
3. Timely completion of Financial Reporting for Regional/Corporate, Local Management, Regulator (MOF & AAJI) and Auditors (Internal/External)
- Ensure that the report is prepared properly by performing the checking process
- Ensure that the submission of the report meet the deadline
4. Account Reconciliation
- Ensure that the reconciling items for all general accounts are prepared, followed up and cleared properly
5. Responsible for creating the new code and updating the Sun System & subsidiary ledger
6. Prepare tax reporting, such as tax reconciliation and tax filing
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University Graduate major in Accounting, with minimum of 5 years experience in Accounting, preferably with Public accounting experience. Ideally, having insurance certification qualification (LOMA)
- Having experience in dealing with individual at all levels
- Ideally possessing working knowledge on the process involved in the life insurance industry
- Experience at managing projects that involve inter-departmental coordination and tight deadlines
- Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, preferably having experience to operate Sun System
- Proficient in verbal and written English
