Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Financial Controller of this hotel. You will be computer literate with an understanding of hotel operations and will be expected to demonstrate an ability to think literaly, solve problems, and be able to meet reporting deadlines.

As a key member of the management team the financial controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative aspects of the company’s operations. Reporting to the Regional Financial Controller (Pacific) and General Manager, the key responsibilities will include :

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

  • Preparation of monthly financial statements, cash flows, and budgets;
  • Maintaining the general ledger, revenue, receivables, payables, stock control and payroll systems;
  • Implementing and enhancing internal controls over all aspects of the operations;
  • Cost control, cash flow management and compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Supervision, development and training of the accounts team;
  • Ensuring compliance with annual audit requirements and preparation of annual statutory financial statements; and
  • Supporting the company’s Corporate Office with strategic planning and any ad hoc projects required.
  • Will be placed in South Pacific Islands.

Qualifications :

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting / finance and membership of a recognized professional accounting body is desirable,
  • Minimum of 3 years experiences with hotels and resorts as well the accounting software/programs.
  • Able to work independently as well as a team
  • Fluently in English both oral and written
  • Good communication skill
  • Computer literate

Ability to work under pressure, independently & team work

The Client
Our client is a world renowned corporation that focuses on large water treatment projects in both civil and industrial sectors. As a major player in the global water treatment industry, it has set up several mid and large sized projects in several countries around the world. These include raw water treatment, sewage treatment, effluent treatment and desalination facilities. As the company expands its operations further in Asia, Middle East and North Africa, it is looking for senior project management professionals who can take responsibility for managing large (several hundred million dollar value) projects.

Position : Project Directors (Large EPC Projects)
Location : Various Global Locations

Responsibilities :

The selected candidate will lead multi-million dollar projects and will be responsible for large teams of engineering, construction, material control and project management professionals, as well as external vendors.

He/She will :

  1. Prepare/study the build strategy as per client specifications and prepare Master Project Plan for the project.
  2. Ensure project milestones and commercial controls are achieved by effective planning, logistics control and execution.
  3. Lead project teams through a regular system of reviews to identify & manage risks, monitor operational performance against agreed timescales, and initiate corrective action, where appropriate.
  4. Lead ancillary functions i.e. HSE, Planning, Controls, Procurement, Engineering, Cost Control, Risk Management etc. and work closely with Finance and HR.
  5. Ensure compliance with all corporate practices and standards.
  6. Act as senior focal point for all customer contact, including all customer requests, queries and concerns, throughout contract lifecycle
  7. Coordinate with various parties – internal and external – involved with the project execution to ensure that overall risk is minimized/eliminated.
  8. Provide regular Project Reports to senior management and the client.
  9. Ensure adherence to the required documentation processes.
  10. Implement best practices, systems and processes.
  11. Train, mentor and motivate team members.

Requirements :

Ideal candidates will be senior, highly experienced Project Management professionals with:

  1. Masters or Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering from reputed institutions. An MBA, preferably in Project or Construction Management, and relevant Project Management certification will be desirable.
  2. At least 15 years of relevant experience with large EPC companies, Contractors, Construction Management or Design & Engineering houses
  3. Exposure to managing large water treatment projects would be ideal
  4. Hands-on experience in using Project Management software
  5. Exposure to managing complex, very large projects involving multi-functional internal teams and external vendors
  6. Prior experience of working in Asia or Middle East preferred but not essential
  7. Excellent leadership, project management and man-management skills
  8. Personable, culturally adaptable and flexible personality

Engineering
